When your rhetoric is ailing, And the poles say you are failing, Theres nothing like a war to raise your ratings. . When the Democrats are voting, And the Liberals are gloating, That economic matters are a mess, Theres no better way to please, Than a conflict overseas, With some tyrant and the good old U. of S. . When the deficit is climbing, When the pundits are opining, That the incumbent has a plan that will restore, When voter-confidence is fading, And minorities are parading, It is comforting to start another war. . If the factories are pumping And the daily Dow is jumping, To new heights, with renewed confidence, You will know that strife is pending, But the problems will be mending, For theres nothing like a war for presidents. .
