Theres a bit of something in each generation that dies whenever we lose someone who defines that generation like Maya Angelou. Its a as if a piece of our life has also died. I felt the same way when Mother Theresa died, or John Lennon, George Carlin, Jim Henson, Harry Nilsson, Michael Jackson, Benigno Aquino, Pope John Paul II, Corazon Aquino, Freddie Prince, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr. Her voice was the voice of our consciousness and our conscience. I wonder if it felt like this when Eleanor Roosevelt died, or JFK, or Robert Kennedy , Martin Luther King Jr., Judy Garland, Frida Kahlo, Winston Churchill, or Victor Hugo. It sends chills up my spine to wonder who In the next generation will have this impact and who in the next generation can be the next Maya Angelou, or Tennyson or Pablo Naruda or Frida Kahlo?
