Theres a certain bliss that comes when, as a writer, something - TopicsExpress

Theres a certain bliss that comes when, as a writer, something youve toiled in the dark to create, is unleashed and viewed and experienced, that is so wonderful it actually justifies the enormous drudgery of decades it took to get there. Its a bit of heaven when your book comes out in paperback. Nice if you can get a hardback, obviously. But the paperback is something even more special, somehow, and Im sure Im not the only author who feels this way. You build these experiences for others to enjoy--and you never really get to see them enjoy it. But the advent of the paperback edition, a paperback that will be left in bungalows at vacation spots (someone wrote to me to say that they read a battered copy of Fragment from the public library while vacationing in the Seychelles!) or a cruise ship (yep, got a letter from someone who found Fragment on a cruise ship, too) or just rattling around the house and picked up and read. Since paperbacks are the most easily bounced along version of a book, they are the most pleasing to an author. So it makes me enormously happy that Pandemonium is finally in paperback. :) youtube/watch?v=RS_ux2H473I
