Theres a difference between a dog that is truly aggressive and unsafe to be placed into the community, and a dog that simply reacts because of the situation they are placed in. We are trying very hard to raise more awareness about this and have taken in the worst dogs from across the State in 2014 and we have turned (or are turning) each of them around so they can live whole and happy lives. As Humane Agents out in the field, we see dogs reacting every day to a life on a chain without socialization, sufficient resources or mental/physical stimulation. That doesnt mean theyre unadoptable, it just means they may need a different environment than a shelter environment in order to thrive.
