Towards A Bleak Sun feels like the sonic equivalent of Egyptian tomb paintings; the blurred hum of past kings, mythical pharaohs and the activity of pyramid interiors, embalmed in a reverb that renders the present tense as a chorus of all past events in culmination. Persistent listening lures more and more detail into focus, and while the first few listens sound like indistinct winds rumbling between tomb walls, subsequent visits bring to light mantric throat singing, the chink of gold dress and the beautiful music of requited prayer - the breath of God, spent forth from lungs that will never vacate.
