Theres a lot of Arabic terms in Islam that I think we do a bad job of translating to English. Like wudhu, the whole washing thingy we do before we get ready to pray, I always see it translated in articles and books as ablution. Ablution??? Ive never casually used that word in a conversation in my entire life. Hey guys, before you start praying, hold up, I gotta go do some ablution. Ablution? Yo dog, why you gotta do that? Didnt slavery end like 150 years ago or something?
