Theres a secret garden in Islington, north London. You go through - TopicsExpress

Theres a secret garden in Islington, north London. You go through this gate youd never know was there and suddenly youre in a wood with a fairy glade and everything. The facts: this was once the private garden of property developer Lord Thornhill, whose name is all over the surrounding area (Thornhill Square, Thornhill Bridge, the Thornhill Arms). He used to live at 7 Huntingdon Street and his garden was first recorded in the Ordnance Survey map of 1871. For some reason Islington Council has preserved the land as a nature reserve. Its a real London oddity, a wood hidden behind a row of houses off the Caledonian Road. The entrance is in Crescent Street. Its open Tuesdays, 2-4pm. Can you see the gardener pottering about?
