Theres a very important piece written by Michael Gerson in todays Washington Post which I will be discussing on my weekend radio show on WMAL this Saturday between 4 and 7pm (click the link below to listen online or tune in to 105.9FM), heres the link to the article. wapo.st/1qEgEWj This piece eloquently sums up the growing chasm between the far-left wing of the Democratic Party and working Americans. If I had to sum up the main difference between Conservatism and modern Liberalism, its that Conservatism produces results, but is difficult to hear, because it tells you the truth. Liberalism produces failure, and is easy to hear, because it doesnt tell you the truth. It is a topic I am passionate about because the logical endpoint of their strategy is the surreptitious theft of your liberty using deception. I use phrases such as theft of your liberty using deception often and I want to explain what I mean, because the situation is very serious. Liberalisms central tenet is to rule, not govern. They want America ruled by experts, not representative democracy. Using Obamacare as an example, they want a board of medical experts to dictate when, and how, you will receive your medical care. Although this may sound appealing, think about what this really means. It means that the 15 experts that sit on the Independent Payments Advisory Board (IPAB), created by sections 3403 and 10320 of Obamacare, will decide when and how you will receive the healthcare procedure you need, not you. Heres how this hurts you; although the members of IPAB may be very intelligent, they have never met you, or the millions of other Americans they will make decisions for. This renders their intelligence meaningless. Regardless of how smart they are, they will never be able to comprehend the many events and variables occurring in your life which led you to the decision to have a back surgery, hip replacement, or even an appendectomy. All of your pleading on the phone with them, or the bureaucrat representing them, on the phone will do nothing to convince them that you know more about your healthcare than they do. If youre saying to yourself, this sounds terrible, then you are catching on to what modern liberalism is really about and why growing numbers of Americans are rejecting its approach. You also may be wondering, if its this bad then how do people keep electing liberals? The answer is simple, and harks back to the second paragraph of this piece; the people selling you this snake-oil do not tell you the truth. Thats the reason If you like your plan, you can keep your plan is so dangerous, because its just the beginning of the disingenuous sales-job required to separate you and your individual freedoms.
