Theres a video going around that appears to show an impossibility, where a bar of white chocolate is cut diagonally and then one half is cut into three sections, which are then rearranged to form the full bar again, but with an extra piece... https://facebook/video.php?v=554083064700378 This animation shows that its not possible. The cuts done here are perfectly straight and when the first section is moved to its new location, it already doesnt line up correctly, and it cant. When all the pieces are repositions, the bar is actually 1/4 of the length of a single piece shorter than it used to be, which accounts for the seemingly magical extra chocolate. The original video uses a bar that has pieces of varying sizes and a pretty sloppy diagonal cut to make it look like the bar is reassembled to its original size. In fact, if you look before the pieces are moved, the ones that were cut diagonally are a bit longer than the others. If you mark out where the top, or far end is in that video before the pieces are moved, youll see that the bar does end up being shorter at the end of the video, by about 1/4 of the length of a piece.
