Theres always a little insanity on the path to holiness. (One of our youth group kids) How true that is! Look at the saints - they were thought to be crazy in their lifetime. St. Francis disrobing in front of the bishop; St. Anthony preaching to fish, St. Philip Neri shaving off half his beard, Mother Theresa leaving the comfort of her Calcutta convent to pick up the dying on the streets. Sensible people just dont do those sorts of things. But love is madness, isnt it? When two people fall in love, they lose a bit of their sanity to one another - they begin to daydream about the other, send them sappy love notes, act like a blubbering fool when the other person is around. And when we fall in love with God - as the saints have done - nothing is too offbeat or unconventional when His love asks for it. Yes, the saints were crazy - filled with the madness of love. Dont worry about what people think of you - do as the Lord asks, and that will be enough! #40daysofinspiration
