Theres been something heavy on my mind lately, and I guess its time I make it known... P.O.M.E. Product Of My Environment. We are who we hang around. If you hang around athletes, youll be more athletic. If you hang around musicians, youll be more into music. If you hang around druggies, youll eventually become one. If you choose to hang around successful people, in turn you will become successful. Because you are seeing what they are doing and are attempting to better yourself because of it. And the point Im trying to make is that everyone needs to choose better people and role models to hang around. Ill use myself for example, I hang around people are doing good in life and are successful, to name a few, Jeremy Sublett and David Les Gumm. There are plenty more I can name but Im not wanting to tag a million people. I ride through this town and just look, and see what people are doing with their lives. Some are doing great things, some are sitting there wasting their lives away. Some dont have a clue whats going on. Theres more to life than flipping burgers, drinking beer and sweeping rugs. If I realized when I was 16 that Id start becoming who I hang around, I can honestly say from the bottom of my heart and depths of my soul Id have cut A LOT of yall off in High School, just to better myself that much more. I may not be the person, but I try my damn hardest to be a great role model not only to my younger brother, but to my younger family members, friends and any/everyone else. Ive been blessed to hear wise words from many of my elders and none show more value to me than being a product of my environment. Plant seeds of success and watch everything you have grow. Id like to think someone out there looks up to me, just to show what can come of life besides sitting somewhere doing nothing. There are too many losers out there not taking advantage of what they have. You are who you hang around. Choose wisely. Rant over.
