Chris, My first instinct was to respond to your ridiculous message by posting the iPad on eBay and sending you a link, but my lawyer says that I should stick to the original 7-day timeline. In the meantime, he suggests that you seek legal advice from somewhere other than where youre currently getting it, because there is nothing illegal about sharing your contact information with anyone I want, so long as the intent is not to cause you harm and I do not encourage them to harass you. I never entered into any agreement with you not to share your personal contact information, and of course your work address, phone number, and mailbox are publicly available online and not protected in any way whatsoever. If you somehow find a lawyer willing to take your case, it will go nowhere and I will counter-sue for every penny I spend on legal expenses to get it thrown out. I know that every burnout thinks they are a legal expert, but you should really consider talking to someone who actually knows something about the law about this. Unless I have been given a password that successfully disassociates the iPad from your account, it will be posted on eBay in 6 days, and your contact information will be given to the winning bidder along with a written statement from Apple support stating that your failure to disassociate the device from your Apple ID is the only reason it is not currently working. I will also include a nice legal disclaimer, carefully worded by my lawyer, stating that your information is to be used only to contact you for purposes of having the iPad restored to working condition, which is perfectly legal regardless of how inconvenient that is for you. All of this is more trouble than I would like to go through, but I am not eating a $300 loss for a useless brick. You may think Im doing this to be vindictive, but the reality is that the statement from Apple and your contact information make the iPad more valuable than it would be if I just sold it for parts. I will do everything legally permissible to minimize my loss in this transaction and I will show no more concern for your convenience than you have shown for mine.
