Theres never a dull moment once I hit the blood donor door. I know - TopicsExpress

Theres never a dull moment once I hit the blood donor door. I know most of the folks there and they know me. Today was unique. The usual prep, then, most likely the smoothest needle stick Ive ever felt, plus, the needle was not covered with excess anti-coagulant, which burns inside the vein (seldom, but memorable). I pumped the four little bags in 5 mins 23 sec, which is slow for me. Since my vitals were 123/80 bp and 53 heart rate I expected nothing unusual. But, several minutes after arriving at the snack table I was told that my arm wrap was leaking - on my trousers and accumulating on the floor. All hands on deck to clean me up, stop the flow, and rewrap the arm. Then the floor since I had left a sort of Hansel and Gretel trail of red on the tiles. I thought Id seen all of the episodes that may occur in the centers - now a new one. Alright. In the end, at least four premies will be helped.
