Theres no English version of this, but it basically says that for more than two years the Times of Israels military correspondent Mitch Ginsburg has been denied by the IDF Spokespersons Unit the right to join the group of military correspondents (mostly from Hebrew media but including The Jerusalem Post) who receive more frequent briefings and greater access to senior officers. No reasons have been cited, and he has resorted to legal action in an attempt to be granted the access routinely given to his colleagues on the same beat. It is an outrageous slight on English language press in Israel and verges on a violation of Freedom of the Press to my mind. Over and above the substantial internal readership of TOI, there are many abroad who rely solely on English language sources for their news about Israel. Why deny them access, IDF Spokespersons Unit?
