Theres not much to write in a time trial race report: you just get - TopicsExpress

Theres not much to write in a time trial race report: you just get out of the gate and ride fast until the finish line. No tactics, no race strategies, rarely any crashes or obstacles, just pedal hard and get through the corners as smoothly as possible. Last year i had a few close encounters with quokkas on this course, but this year was almost all clear, except for a few other tourists and one school group, none of which caused any problems. for me anyway. After yesterdays disapointing result, i had plenty of motivation for a better result today, and with a shorter course, cramping was unlikely to strike again. Henry Pennell and i took an easy recon lap after a pause in the UWCT event where the other HCT athletes were picking up podiums in rapid succession, and then had another hour to wait for my start. Im no expert on TT, and my strategy is usually just to build up to a hard pace and then hold it as long as possible. This seemed to work well and i posted a very good time that had me finish in 31st postion out of 131 starters. Tomorrow is the final stage for the tour, and returns to one of our regular training grounds at Perry Lakes (we often motopace around this circuit, so were pretty used to suffering on this course). If the legs stay good and dont cramp up again, well be looking for a good team result to finish off what has been a very enjoyable (mostly) time with a great bunch of guys. Again, thanks to our team sponsors who jumped on board without question and make competing against the countrys best riders much, much easier. Check them out....
