Theres nothing like an Austin. It is important that your family and your birds are not breathing all this dust and dander back in. When you are researching an air purifier, you need to make sure that you do not have one that produces ozone or has an ionizer. They are both irritants and lung damaging to both humans and parrots. Some air purifiers that are recommended for parrots do have ionizers that automatically turn on. Austin is a true HEPA filter system and not a HEPA like filter. Another important component for an air purifier to work properly is to make sure you have one that is large enough to work for your room. If you have a 10 by 10 room and you buy a unit for a 10 by 10 room then you will need to run that unit on high in order for the machine to work properly. If you have a 10 by 10 room and you buy a machine that is good for a 16 by 16 room you can then run the machine on a lower speed and not as noisy..
