Theres nothing more powerful than when women uplift and assist - TopicsExpress

Theres nothing more powerful than when women uplift and assist each other. Today I am a beneficiary of sisterhood from my force Tlangi. The Norwegian Embassy in Pretoria called me this morning to say I must come and collect my passport, which they needed in order to grant me a visa, before 2pm. Being in the Eastern Cape, I had to ask someone I could trust to fetch it for me. I asked a fellow sister, Tlangi, who dedicated time from her lunch hour to going to the emnbassy to fetch the passport on my behalf. The next crisis I had to deal with was how to get the passport from Pretoria to Cape Town by Monday morning, because Im leaving for work in Cape Town tomorrow morning and travelling straight from there to Dubai on Monday morning. Another fellow sister, Phumeza, came to the rescue. As shes flying to Cape Town on Sunday, she will deliver my passport to me. Why am I sharing this? Well, there are two reasons. Firstly, Phumeza and I are not friends, but she is willing to go an extra mile to help me. It has taught me that as sisters we dont have to be friends to look out for each other. Secondly, the reality of the situation is that in a highly competitive dog-eat-dog society, wanting to see the next person fail is a norm. It wouldve been easy for Tlangi and Phumeza to say to themselves: Shes going to Dubai and to Norway and were not, so why must we wish her well to a point of extending ourselves? But they didnt. Instead they went all out to help out a fellow sister. Can you imagine how easier life would be if on our path of self-development we had shoulders of giants to stand on? Just imagine!
