Theres nothing quite like the sweet warble of a family of magpies this time of eve when the light is golden & the shadows are getting long. A couple of hares jut about in an open field before me feasting on an evening meal. Long ears fan back & forth on guard from Mr Fox, with cute noses nuzzling side to side searching for that perfect morsel of nourishment. The light bouncing & flickering against a billion cobwebs & baby spiders that lay tethered across the land, blown by the breeze in search for a new home. Some galahs land in a near by gum nesting down for the night. A few ants darting across my bare feet in the dust. Breaking the quiet is the odd mozzie having a crack at my ankles elbows & wrists, giving me what for & the inevitable expletive escapes my mouth with a swipe & a scratch!
