Theres plenty of oil in the lower reaches of the Clyde. Any oil - TopicsExpress

Theres plenty of oil in the lower reaches of the Clyde. Any oil operations were blocked by the MoD and Maggies cabinet back in the 80s to prevent inconvenience to the subs at Faslane. Heseltine, the Tory cabinet member at the time admitted it in a Sunday Post article just three weeks ago. And to back that up weve retrieved recently de-classified documents from the National Archive saying the same. Those documents are now in the hands of Chic Brodie SNP MSP. What does that possibly mean for shipbuilding on the Clyde? Well if we regain our independence and we get rid of the subs, oil operations will be able to commence. We know that theres vast quantities because Chevron were all the way through planning and design of a huge refinery at Hunterston Point. The requirement for platforms, support vessels and all manner of ships would be required. That would create a great business plan for the formation of a large shipyard somewhere on the Clyde. It would also create the kind of shipyard capable of producing the ships and vessels described by Stuart Ballantyne, building around 100 ferries in the next two decades to serve island routes and around small and medium-sized coastal defence craft. I see a great future for ship building on the Clyde. Dont listen to the naw ye cannie brigade. If they were in charge wed be in a hell of a mess.........oh wait a minute! We are, arent we? Time for a change. Time to build a new future without Westminster hanging round our necks and pilfering our wealth. Kindest regards, David Milligan Lvss
