Theres some uplifting stuff here for everyone, whatever their age. Just got this from someone elses post and forgotten whom already(memory; i must be getting old - no, hang on, apparently getting old is no excuse). But its a goody. And from across the board of human endeavour. Though all American...theres a wider world of wisdom to draw on. An expanded project; im thinking of some of the old Berbers i talked to when with the Ait Atta in North Africa - the ones who passed on wisdom about finding water in dry years for the familys stock and pasture and where to dig salt in the mountains. And who still got up to dance at weddings. And had memories of fighting the French with black-powder guns and horses during the pacification. And the venerable gauchos who knew about horses and weather, and remembered the old songs. I would say that along with getting old youd want to be lucky in a number of ways to be sure of a certain level of happiness, comfort, dignity and respect when annoying the upper decades of human longevity. Otherwise its a rough ride. But thats true of everyone at any age. (Hey, this wisdom lark is easy....).
