Theres still around 4 hours before my birthday officially ends. As much as Id just want to bum and recuperate some more, I have to start charging myself up for the real world especially since we have em group report, pharma meds to memorize, and a patient encounter with a rumored-to-be tough preceptor among other things. Bring em on! Before I talk about my day, Id like to backtrack a couple of days. Having to focus for the exams, I had to stay in QC for about 3 weeks! Thats a record for me. And by the time the exams were finished, I was just itching to go home... itching! I had little energy to participate in side activities that time. What added to that, definitely, was the news that I failed Patho Lab the second time in a row. Ugh! And to think that thats the bulkiest subject, and the exams for other subjects amped up their difficulty... not to mention psych would unlikely be a leverage for me this time, things werent looking good. And me being very OC with how Im performing and the fact that its become more challenging to get a scholarship for our batch, those things happening can be very draining. And yesterday, I was finally able to go home! Its like being able to return to basecamp after a world war. Haha. And this makes me think... oh... those who have to take flights to go home really have to toughen up way way much more than us who live just 2 hours away from school. Anyhoo, it was a very worthwhile day for me. Im not one to have extravagant celebrations. The day started with me playing in 2 masses back to back... thats not really to double the blessings... but more because the next slot called for a sub. Well, the day actually began past midnight earlier when me and my sister finally had the chance to finish the last 3 episodes of Legend of Korra. Haha. Special thanks to my uber awesome choir, by the way, for remembering my birthday and giving me a cake, which is yet to be opened. :)) And of course, after the mass services, food was imperative. The buffet we wanted to eat in had us wait in line - we were #66! So in the meantime, we ate at some other place, where I had a membership card, to claim em freebie and eat other stuff. Not a very good idea... but fatness had to be welcomed as this was a yearly occasion anyway. So basically, thats really a lot of food - more than I want! Buuut... now that Im home... I have to awaken myself to the fact that med school does not stop for anybody. So heres to a splendid day.. and heres to starting productivity and patching up the broken pieces of my progress. Ill just intersperse the remaining hours allotted for our report with some piano playing, dessert, and exercise hopefully. So many time I have, methinks. Lol. Thanks to all my friends in and out of school and of church and of facebook. Thanks to my family. And most importantly... really most importantly... thanks to the God on high for this life! Im happy to be the number of years old I am. The bumpy days surely wont end. But there are happy moments sprouting just as long as I see them. Life is an adventure. And each year is an experience. And Im not really driving at any specific point. Maybe because I dont have to. So I guess that means I should just stop. Haha. :))
