Theresa shares: Hi, I love this page as it has been very helpful, but Im in need of some advice. My high functioning autistic son who is 11 and in a mainstream 5th grade class has about 2 hours of homework every night. We have an IEP but I dont know if I can get his homework to be modified. After a full day at school and then knowing he has so much homework he usually gets so overwhelmed and cries and has a meltdown. How can I ask or get the school to help? His teacher expects so much from him but it really is too much every single day. Is there anything I can do to help ease his homework load within his IEP? Thank you for any suggestions!
