There’s a question I’d like to put to those who advocate that carbon dioxide drives climate change; when I was at High school, we were taught that hot air rises and cold air sinks. However as I understand global warming theory, hot air (from the stratosphere) is transmitted to the Earth’s surface where it allegedly increases (warms) the Earth’s atmosphere. It appears that global warming theory is fundamentally flawed because it postulates that hot air goes down, and that by implication cold air rises – this is a reversal of thermodynamic laws. Hot air is lighter than cold air. The heat(steam) is evaporated particles of air, as opposed to cold air which is heavier particles of air that stays closer to the ground. Also, it still puzzles me why carbon dioxide is labelled the bad guy in terms of climate change. It’s a given that the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere varies on an annual cycle. This variation is usually around five percent (370 to 390ppm in 2011). The total contribution of humanity to CO2 levels is miniscule, and is only a fraction (12 per cent) of the natural variation of CO2 in the atmosphere. So logically humanity’s CO2 emissions cannot be driving climate change. A Royal Commission should be convened on climate to test the veracity of global warming claims before Australia squanders billions on measures aimed at trying to limit the production of a very minor greenhouse gas such as CO2 which have virtually no significant impact on climate change.
