There’s a sickness in our midst, one with disastrous consequences. It’s spread due to mis information, lack of caution when dealing with others, a disregard for your impact on others. It’s spread has been and will continue to be a burden on our communities for many years to come. It’s affects can attack generations if we do not attempt to tackle it. It’s highly contagious, especially for those who are close to those who carry it or those who make no attempt to keep themselves informed and aware. This sickness results in the isolation of communities, in the creation of unnecessary fear. It leads to stigma and prejudice. You would have seen evidence of it on your fb feeds or in newspapers and you may have even seen evidence of its existence through the words and actions of extremely influential personalities. This sickness is MORE SUBTLE AND MORE DAMAGING THAN EBOLA. This sickness is IGNORANCE and its eating away on every pillar of our society. Fight it, eradicate it with knowledge and continue to be an ambassador against it.
