There’s no point to a light in the window When there’s a scream inside my soul No candle flame that flickers Can replace the hurt, the pain, the whole These people they were innocent They trusted, they loved, they dreamed And what they had to give the world Echoes lost in all our screams I can’t imagine what it’s like To have the flame snuffed out To not know what has been be achieved In life, in loves, in doubts So for these innocents I bow my head To feel guilt shame pride and love Their lives a monument to strength Beyond what I have done One candle flame just maybe One flicker in my heart A small light in the window Can change the blackness of the dark So I will light a candle A point in the window pane As a symbol, not a meaning To ease the hurt but not to gain (by Bruce Riley via Anglican Parish of Gosford)
