There’s still time to get your entry in for the Festival of Chocolate, but the January 16 deadline is fast approaching. “Entries are coming in, and we’d like to have more,” commented Wil Grove, Festival of Chocolate Chairperson. He encourages local bakers and confectioners to scour their files for a chocolate recipe to prepare and bring. Judges will award cash prizes to the top entries in 4 categories: cakes/cupcakes; brownies/bars; cookies; and confections/candies. The event, sponsored by the Friends of Kendall Young Library, will be Sunday January 25 from 2 to 4pm at the library. Snow date is February 1. Live music will add ambiance to the festivities. Melissa Gillette and her daughters will play violin from 2 to 3pm and Peter Almstalden will be at the keyboard from 3 to 4. “It’s going to be a great event, so let’s have fun with it,” Groves said. “We need lots of chocolate items for people to enjoy.” Full details and entry forms are available at the library and on library website: kylib.org. Call the library at 832-9100 with any questions.
