These Emails Could Reveal Evidence Of Criminal Activity In The White House That Obama Can’t Escape These people belong in jail. Share Tweet Email Avatar of L. Todd Wood L. Todd Wood — December 3, 2014 Photo credit: WisPolitics (Flickr) Cause of Action, an organization advocating for accountability in government, filed a Freedom of Information Act request to release emails showing communication between the IRS and the White House that possibly could shed light on illegal activity. During the Obama administration’s time in office, a lot of personal tax information about the conservative political opposition has been leaked to the press. Former presidential candidate Mitt Romney was a case in point. During the campaign, Harry Reid and others started saying that Romney didn’t pay his taxes. Where did this tidbit of information come from? Advertisement-content continues below Cause of Action wanted to know and filed an FOIA request. A week ago, the administration suddenly found 2500 emails that could possibly contain evidence of criminal wrongdoing. These emails were to be released, with any personal tax info redacted of course. Today, it seems the White House gangsters have had a change of heart. The Washington Examiner reports: “In an abrupt decision, the Treasury inspector general’s office said that the documents are covered by privacy and disclosure laws and can’t be provided to Cause of Action, despite a promise last week to hand over some 2,500.” The documents are not part of the larger investigation of Lois Lerner and the IRS targeting Tea Party groups. That is a separate investigation that also has suddenly uncovered about thirty thousand emails of Lerner’s that were supposedly gone forever. Will these emails be released as well? When is Congress or the judiciary going to hold this gangster, criminal, corrupt White House accountable? I just wonder. Advertisement-content continues below Where is the Constitution? Where is the separation of powers? Where are Woodward and Bernstein? Dan Epstein, Executive Director of Cause of Action, said that “Either Treasury was ‘stonewalling’ his group, or that (Treasury Secretary Jack) Lew “is incompetent” for just now looking at potential lawbreaking by his team on the case that is two years old. These emails, if allowed to be read by the general public or an independent counsel, could show a pattern of abuse by this administration. They could show how the White House abused its power to stop its political opponents. They could add color to the entire Lois Lerner situation. These people belong in jail. We just need to find the right person or group who has the guts to put them there.
