These are my in laws. A big reason we are happily married after 25 years. Almost as much for what they did NOT do as much as they did do. The never meddled. They never got involved in our affairs even when the beginning of our marriage was so difficult. They never criticized me. They always gave me the utmost respect and treated me like one of their own family members. And everyone who knows of our relationship knows Sejdi and I have always been friends above all. Now to what they did do. They raised a splendid woman in Shpresa. They taught her family values. They taught her respect. They taught her how important it is to respect our Albanian culture and taught her to speak Albanian very well. They traveled the world with her. They respected her immensely before our marriage and since. Me. Some dont know this. But Sejdi gave me the first opportunity in Property Management. After College and going through so many jobs (many of which Sedji also helped me with) I had no clue what I wanted to do with my life. At age 29 Sejdi asked me do you want to go into Property Management? I knew nothing about that industry. But I took a chance and the rest is history. He connected me with the right people. For the first year I would call him several times a day for advice. You see, Sejdi is one of the FINEST Resident Managers in the industry. His first Resident Manager job was at age 26 ..77 Park Avenue. He also managed 1 Fifth, 983 Park, etc.. And for the last 20 years he has been on 73rd and 5th In front of Central Park. It doesnt get any better than that. I will never forget all he has done for me during the last 25 years. But wait. There is more. When I first started College my dad asked Sejdi (who he had known for decades and always admired) if I could find him a job. Sejdi didnt want to put me in his building to protect his prize daughter. So he put me next door. I worked there all through College..full time. There is much more to this story but I will leave it here for now. And Jackie has been supportive of us all the way through. When some people werent happy about Shpresa marrying me at age 18...a Doorman, she never looked down on me. She always respected me. To this day. So I want to thank you Sejdi and Jackie. For raising such a wonderful woman. And for being so good to us all these decades. Cheers in laws!
