These are preliminary, and I mean VERY preliminary plans for a zombie walk in Nitro. The tentative date is October 18th. There will be a Monster Run starting at 11am that will end at the corner of 21st street and 2nd avenue. The Monster Run will be coordinated and sponsored by the Haunted Barn. A Monster Run consist of runners running through the streets with flags, like the ones used in flag football, at certain intervals they are chased by monsters trying to get their flags. The runner that finishes the run without losing any flags is the winner. About an hour later there will be a Zombie and Monster parade on First avenue again ending at the lot on the corner of 21st and 2nd avenue. There food will be available including possibly roasting a pig. We hope to have a live band and/or DJ to provide entertainment. With a little luck we may be able to setup a Haunted House in the old A-1 Carpet building. All these things require City Council and CVB Board approval, but we are working on a plan. It sounds like a lot of fun and I will keep you informed as the event picture becomes more clearer.
