These are the bearded followers of the On Lon Religion, shot at their Nha Lon Temple on Long Son Island in Vietnam about 30 years ago. Nha Lon Long Son was created by an almost Saint like man called Tran, whose real name was actually Le Van Huu. He was a follower of the An Giang based, Tu An Hieu Nghia religion. He came to the region and set up this house at the beginning of the 20th century, which has living quarters as well as prayer rooms. The followers of Ong Tran wear a black ba ba costume, which is a kind of shirt a little like those used by the South Vietnamese people. The followers of Tran walk around in their bare feet.
