These are the details for the event. We will be meeting at Goodale Park in Columbus Ohio Friday January 2, 2015 at 7pm. We will meet near the gazebo and the pond. The weather is supposed to be clear but chilly so please remember to bundle up. We will be holding this vigil for roughly 30 minutes. We will be passing out candles, flashlights, glow necklaces and bracelets, We will also have some hand warmers for those that might need them considering the cold temperatures. We dont mind if you bring signs but please know that it will be dark out. We also would suggest possibly bringing a small flashlight so you are more visible. We will have a few speakers and also a poetry reading and possibly a few other things to be added to the event. Please also find a candle app for your phone just in case we run out of candles or feel free to bring a couple candles also. We do not know how many will join us in the park but it will be a vigil for the community. The Columbus Police have been informed of this event and there will be officers looking in on us for our safety and security. We will be handing out some information also and we are having some education and information with this vigil. If you cant attend we ask that you take selfies of yourself with your candle or take images of your candle and post them in this group or online in standing with us. This vigil will be peaceful and calm and to make a difference. We are issuing press releases today so there may be some media also at this event.
