These are what the smoothie straw fire-starters look like before and after opening them (Ignore the filthy workbench they are sitting on). There is a trick to getting them to light with a fire stick but once they start burning they burn pretty god. It will take me a few days to get the video edited. One thing, unless you are willing to ruin a perfectly good curling iron, there is no really god way of sealing the ends. I used a pair of needle-nose pliers held over a butane camp stove and it is pretty tricky to get pliers just hot enough to seal the end without melting through it. It takes about 10 minutes to make each one but once they are made and sealed they should pretty much last forever.
