These big environmental nonprofits need to bring in some gritty scrapers willing to be bold. Now isnt the time for feel good collaboration. When did environmentalism become so passive? Lobbing softballs may make the big NGOs feel good, but its simply not cutting it. These organizations need to break lose of the corporate framework and current paradigm that is so pervasive within our environmental nonprofit culture, step it up and find an edge, or shut their doors and start from scratch. We need bold, brave and audacious individuals to work tirelessly to inspire the next generation of guardians to be a voice for the voiceless. We need passionate people not afraid to tell it like it is, throwing haymakers in defense of our wild planet and most important issues—bison, wolves, grizzlies, salmon migration, island biogeography, dam removal, deforestation, climate change, and much more—if we hope to provide a livable planet for the next generation.
