These days Airiana is interested in relationships. She talks about her cousins, her sister, who Scott and I are to each other, who our parents are and that they are also her grandparents. And she makes friends. And boyfriends. Or rather she tells people they will be her friend. She selects them wherever she is. They dont get a choice in the matter. Most everyone could be a friend, she wants to meet every kid. She stands right next to whom she chooses and tells me shes found a friend. Its cute. Shes 4. At church today I was told how adorable it was that she called two boys her brothers. When shes with a friend she often slows down to their pace or engages in games with them which is a joy to watch. She contributes good ideas and plays together really well. I watched her play catch with a boy she just met. Friday she actually looked at exhibits at the Florida History Museum because she had a girl who was elementary school age (we lucked out and went on a day there were field trip kids there) and walked along with her. Today at church she cozied up to two girls we are actually acquainted with. (Hooray.) AND then she tried to get Married to boy. Hes a really sweet boy only a few years older and he wouldve been content to be her friend. But she told him he was going to be her boyfriend, she picked flowers (they were leaves) and tried to get married. She followed him around as he tried to gracefully walk away and eventually he told her to go away. That made her upset that he did not agree with her. She told him they were going to be together forever. I had to tell her that he had a choice. I think we have alot of talking on this subject to come.
