These days I often say I am not surprised by stuff going on in the world in general or Charlotte in particular but I was really surprised by the CMS Big Black Booty test question posed to students at CMS (see Observer article below referencing a WBTV report). According to the attached article, some CMS high school had a biology test question obviously directed at inner-city African-Americans. Dont know what school. So what do you think? Is it racist or just a clever way to engage inner-city Black youth and teach them about their own possible genetic traits? CMS Biology Question: LaShamanda has a heterozygous big bootie, the dominant trait. Her man Fontavius has a small bootie which is recessive. They get married and have a baby named LaPrincess. What is the probability that LaPrincess will inherit her mamas big bootie?. Who could make something like that up ? Another math question not asked: What is the probability that LaShamanda and Fontavius actually got married before having LaPrincess.I think the answer is roughly 9%.
