...These few photos are of my first cat called Red - he stole my heart almost a decade ago. He was one of those cats, who was so unique - so special & so amazing. Sadly I only had a few months of his time. He was diagnosed with FIP, (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feline_infectious_peritonitis) - a mutation of Feline Coronavirus (FCoV) - (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feline_Coronavirus). I still attribute this mutation (which at the time had a cited cause of trauma) to his booster jab where the vet literally shot through his scruff & this wee guy (the friendliest, most laid back) fired his claw through my top lip. What I remember most was the force of the liquid coming out the other side of his wee neck...vets shouldnt be so quick to force a thicker viscosity of drug into an animal. I did *everything*. I contacted the US folks & spoke with the (then) leading light at Glasgow - however, although her results had stated shed had numerous success - she bascially hadnt. Id already had his chest drained twice in the four weeks prior & after everything else failing - I finally arranged for him to be pts on the Monday morning at the vets if there was no change. I phoned the vet Sunday night. My wee Red was in my arms & was buried in my garden in the morning. He came from the best breeder, from the best of lineage & was given the best of care - from conception onwards. More research must be done into FIP.
