These horrific recent events in the US have got me to thinking what I can do in my community to fight the good fight. I have the utmost respect for The Universal Zulu Nation and within the Zulu Nation it is expected that members give back to the community. One of the ways to give back is tutoring or mentoring programs. So... With that in mind I am going to spend the next two months developing a music production program based on the skills I have accumulated. My goal is to be able to teach and mentor 2 students that love music and want to build a path for themselves within the art form. It will be a combination of music theory, music history, engineering techniques and production techniques. At the moment I am thinking 2 hr per week 1 hr on theory and 1 hr on improvised music production (a jam with the aim to make hot tunes). I will be doing this as a free service as music is about higher thought and money does not even come close to the reward of creating and sharing your art form. Also it is a free service because I want to give someone the chance to make music that may not be able to afford the right gear or that has a natural gift for music but never got the opportunity to get music lessons. If you know of any potential candidates that might fit the bill let me know.
