These last chapters of Acts demonstrate the power of death as it is chasing Paul down because of his witness to Jesus. The Jewish leadership is scheming to kill Paul: Acts 25:3 “ They urgently requested Festus, as a favor to them, to have Paul transferred to Jerusalem, for they were preparing an ambush to kill him along the way.” How the enemy desires to snuff out the light of Christ even when victory has already been won. How do you see the culture of darkness and death around you? Are you tempted to despair or to look away and overlook it’s presence? Chasing away darkness begins on a personal level with repentance and like Paul: “1 Timothy 6:11-12 … pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” He is here among us ready to equip us with His Word and Spirit....♥
