These past few days in Atlanta were memorable not only because I got to meet my team mates, but because we all had an instant connection...we were a family the minute we were chosen and viewed each others stories...and what is more incredible, are the people behind the scenes who have made this all happen for us. Jason, Paul, Jay and the team at Lifetime Atlanta gym and the medical team at CNN. I know we will cross the Finish line in September because youve got us. You are the face of kindness and compassion and a genuine interest in elevating the human spirit. What more can we ask for? We came up with the name Sassy 6 to be our team name, because we all have a little sassyness inside of us that compelled us to believe in ourselves enough to submit that video...even though wed all been beaten by our struggles with weight and health and other emotional issues that pinned us down. We look strong and are a united front because of the support of our families, friends and all of you who will be following us. Just got a note from our coach that today is rest day...we start full on tomorrow...ok Your Highness...I will relent for you...! Im learning my lesson from yesterdays hike up Stone Mountain. I will say no more. YOU know best! Prepared my food and had tea with a friend earlier before we dropped off the boys to school because of the rain. Like I said, the key is nutrition, exercise and recovery. But really what holds all these things together is your love and support for us. Thank you. Its an honor to be given such a privilege. To all my Pacific families, Tonga, Niue, Tokelau, Kiribati banaba, Fiji, Guam, Pohnpei, Bikini, Aotearoa, Hawaii, Tahiti, Rarotonga, Marquesas, Papua New Guinea, The Solomons, Wallis n Futuna, Tuvalu, Easter Island, Nauru, New Caledonia, Northern Marianas, Palau, Vanuatu, Marshall Islands, Upolu ma Savaii, and American Samoa....Faafetai tele. Thank you. Feeling your alofa ripple throughout the continent and to our homelands... and of course to all our followers in my new home, US of A. I realize this is a tremendous opportunity. And Im grateful for every minute of it. I swear Im not crying writing this. I do. No more long blogs here until we start blogging for Fit Nation on CNN. Otherwise, they might dump me from the team. But I just wanted to express my own personal gratitude. As I realize, Im here because of you all. Lets do this!
