These pictures and story Im not putting on for sympathy. But to highlight the ignorance of some people and the hurt it can cause. I have a condition on my right leg called elephantiasis, basically my right leg is twice the size of my left google the rest lol.Now I am obese fat as its called,again people who know me its not through greed gluttony or laziness,this is a result linked to my illness. So why this story, well you get used to small children pointing and staring even teenagers they dont know better. But today I was in a shop and looking as you do when I heard this lady voice say, look at that fat disgusting man and his leg it is hideous. At that point I turned round and said, you do know Im not Spanish and that was not nice. Her and husband turned without an apology and scurried off, the age group of this couple mid to late 60s. Which made me think do parents allow and join in and snigger at someones disability and make a judgement on them. After all I could be standing next to what is perceived as the perfect specimen, for all you know could be a rapist or a killer. All I ask is please dont judge me you dont know me and at 48 years old yes it still hurts. Please feel free to share this some people will laugh and some will see the message,that people with many disabilities suffer this humiliation on a daily basis. Thank you for taking time to read.
