These reactions are hilarious, but the fact that these kids are reacting to disappointment from not having CANDY like this (there were some exceptions which was great to see) is just bad. I truly cant understand why kids view candy as such a treasure... Sure, I remember having candy when I was a kid, and I remember how good it tasted and everything, but I was never upset when it was gone or anything (that I can remember). In any case, the reason I find this upsetting as I do is because our culture honors a night that allows the children of our nation to be rewarded with the worst thing possible (except the few houses of people that I have heard of handing out pennies/nickels or healthy treats). WE need to break the cycle that is our culture. The cycle that is leading to a lot of the health issues that we see in our nation (obesity and its side effects). Am I saying that we need to take away all of the enjoyment and fun that we can have within our culture? No. Are there alternatives that a lot healthier? YES!
