These sea turtle tracks are a false crawl. Loggerhead sea turtles only come onto the beach when they are ready to nest; males dont come up on land at all. A false crawl occurs when the mother turtle finds that particular location unsafe or unacceptable for depositing eggs. In this case, there were the chairs that are shown in this picture, plus other items that are just to the right, not pictured. Notice that she also drug the yellow plastic tail of a kite. That kite is not standing up on its own...it is tied to a chair with monofilament line that could have been disastrous had the turtle come up just two feet to the left.
