These two are the K9 heroes that stopped the White House wall jumper! Bravo to these Heroes!! These are trained Belgian Malinois that made the news recently when the video was released of their attacking the intruder. This is what they have been trained to do and they love to work! It wouldnt be right for us to share this positive piece without adding a word of warning to all of you with these dogs or with German Shepherds. When a piece like this is aired, just like the ever studious trader looking for next big win, back yard breeders look for opportunities to make money on a new breed. German Sheps look like Belgian Malinois (Belgians have shorter coats and therefore do well in most environments), and so we must issue a warning to all of you with German Sheps or Belgian Malinois to make sure your dogs are micro chipped, contained safely, never left in your yard unsupervised or left to roam freely - not even on your own front yard - as burglars, dog flippers, breeders, and of late, even some shady rescues have been known to take dogs for the sole purpose of breeding, flipping dogs on social media sites and Craigs List, and worse. Its sad that we always have to think like this, but its reality and our job is to keep our community safe. We take pride in that.
