These two guests were visiting the Polynesian Cultural Center for the first time, but brought with them a PCC map & schedule from 1986 (28 years ago!), when their mother first visited! It was so exciting for me to see how well-preserved it was -- it was obviously well taken care of through the years and they said that their mother, now 93 years old, so wished that she could come back to this special place, but that health complications did not permit her to travel. She asked them to take lots of pictures so that she would be able to relive her visit here from so many years ago. Along with some other little gifts, we gave them a souvenir anniversary booklet, an Alii Luau music CD, and a DVD of the evening show, HA: Breath of Life that they could show Mom when they return home. I hope she enjoys it! One of my very most favorite things to see at work is the look on the faces of guests who return to the PCC after a long time away. They look as if they are coming home to something, some place, someone dear to their hearts ... and it makes us even more determined to do our very best so as not to disappoint them.
