These two rescued ponies are ready for their new home! I occasionally rescue horses that are in need or are at risk of going to auction/slaughter. These two were pulled from the feedlot, therefore not a lot of history is known, other than what the previous owner stated. The mare is a 7-8 year old bay grade pony. She is approx. 13.2hh. Her previous owners said she was broke to ride, however, she would need a refresher. She is very sweet, loves attention and is very food motivated. She is a pretty easy keeper and has lots of energy and go. She was pretty shy and scared when she first came, but warmed up quickly and is always the first one at the gate. She can be a little stubborn, but she is a quick learner. She is sensitive around her hind end and very protective of it. The colt has been gelded and has recovered very well. He is out of the above mare. He does have a parrot mouth, but he eats well, does not cause him any concerns and in fact he uses it to his advantage and loves to play with jolly balls, his water bucket, feed dishes etc. I am working with him on his ground manners, he is a high energy little guy and definitely needs a job. He would do best to go to a home that is knowledgeable about training and horsemanship as he is incredibly smart, active and very switched on. I dont think he was handled much prior to being off the feedlot. Neither of these horses have any stable vices. Both are available, free to good homes.
