These two sisters have CF. Their family had 4 sibs w/ it. They have already lost an older sister :( This last couple of days the US Cystic Fibrosis Community has lost at least 5 young people to this horrible disease! Some we did not even realize were that sick :( We are just Shattered! We are constantly being told that the cure is right around the corner, the new meds that are going to change our kids quality of life are on the horizon ...that the life expectancy has doubled and tripled in the last few years...and yet, we continue to have children and their families told at the ages of 8 and 9 yrs old...maybe 12, 13 yrs old, many times 14 or 15 yrs old....that the medications are no longer working for you, you do not qualify for a transplant, there are no other options available to you, you need to make your end of life decisions and plans. From our perspective, we have to think....WHAT?? How does it come to this? What happens that children that are doing their treatments all the time and in school sports, having hospital tune-ups, are all of a sudden making final arrangements?? It is something I just cant wrap my mind around! For those families, I pray continuously! For comfort and understanding of some kind. For you to feel the love of God as He wraps His arms around you! And for myself, I pray for the anger to lift, because right now I am angry at HIM!! And I know that is NOT RATIONAL!! But I cannot help it. Good Night and please continue to pray for those that are sick.
