Thettawya Zedidaw Thettawya Zedidaw is the kind of pagoda with four entrances. The architecture of the Thettawya Zedidaw helps estimate it was built during the regin of King Sawlu (1077-1084). It is situated on Sule promotory near Wetkyee-Inn creek in NyaungU Town-ship. Since anchient times the promontory was known as Sawlu Hill but with the passage of time, it came to be known ad Sule Hill and called thus till today. Sule Hill is east of Kyansittha Cave which is to the south of Gupyaukkyee pagoda near Tayok-paye Cave. In the entrance niches, statues resembling the four Buddhas, Kakuthan, Gawnagon, Kassapa and Gautama have been built. The statue in the east entrance is a standing statue, and the remaining three are in sitting position, cross-legged. Inside, behind the statues, the walls are adorned with natural water-colour frescoes, still distinct today.
