They are A LOT of Carolina DJs who support local artists. They place music on their mixtapes and spin them in the clubs during their set. I honestly cant think of one DJ who dont TRY to support our music. Yall just gotta do a better job of: 1. Making a HIT/Dope song.... 2. Networking and building relationships with DJs. 3. Getting your music to the DJs without spamming them on social networks. 4. Building awareness of your song (Via social media, blog sites, and street promo) so that when the DJ does decides to play it, at least a few people in the crowd will know it and maybe bring a lil energy when the song plays. In conclusion, make a hit record, get it serviced to the DJs (Either do it yourself or pay someone to do a email blast), PROPERLY start promoting it on Facebook, twitter, Instagram etc etc., send a email blast to bloggers (Either do it yourself or pay someone), and hit the streets and pass out flyers and cds with your song/songs up there. SN: If a DJ or Blogger gives you their email, please STORE it because its irritating when the same person keeps asking you for your email every time they got some new music. SN 2: If you doing your own email blast, PLEASE use BCC so that you want reveal who else the email was sent to. Plus it saves us from being spammed because every time one person responds to the email, we all get the response. Kinda like a chain text message. lol
