“They ask thee about the crescents, say, they are the times for man and the Hajj…” We are given with this saying of the Qur’an two concepts of time, or we may say two clocks. We have the clocks of watches as time pieces for man. Then we have Allah’s clock or watch. No one knows Allah time, or Allah’s clock. Astronomers are the people who study the skies and determine time for us, in terms of days, months, years, etc… They are the ones who set the times. However they can’t determine Allah’s time. They can’t find a pattern that repeats itself in the study of the sun, moon, and earth in their regulated alignments that will suggest to them one year, one month or one day, whereas that regulated sequence will repeat itself and follow the pattern year after year, month after month, day after day. The instruments of man’s clock has to be adjusted ever so often to coincide with Allah’s clock. So, with both man and Allah there is a time in reference to movement. And the movement is seen in terms of its point of origin and its point of destination. This Energy Force that has been moving before the creation and is seen reaching its capacity in the Qur’an, Muhammed the Prophet, and the established Community. That we can declare, that we have the potential to be the best of a community life that can be extracted out of creation. This Life Energy Force, we celebrate its manifestation in “The Night of Power” or we may say, “The Night of the Energy Force.” It is better than a thousand months. One day with man is like a thousand years with Allah. According to man’s clock a thousand months are 83 plus years. But with Allah’s clock a thousand months is symbolic of the time of the origin and destination of this Energy Force. Therefore, we are now living in the last days, the day of the Religion. For my Christian relatives and friends, we may also see this Life Force manifested in the birth of “The Christ” that is celebrated during Christmas. This Night of the Energy Force is the Night before Christmas, A silent Night, a Holy Night. It is Peace until the rise of dawn.
