They both Singaporean, Sharmine from Serangoon & Nazirah from Bedok attending the Asean Youth Volunteer Programme - The development of ASEAN Youth Heritage Leaders Through Volunteerism & Community Engagement in Malaysia. According to them this programme is a good platform for the people of Asean to understand & to work together for the much better quality of life for all of us & for our future generations. The participants are from all the 10 member countries of Asean. At Masjid Jamek Kuala Lumpur today they were received by Tuan Imam Ustaz Mohd Faisal Tan Mutallib, Sister Normah Sulaiman of Mosque Tourist Guide (MTG) & Architect Najib. They were given briefing on this beautiful masjid built in 1909, designed by British architect A.B. Hubback, dominantly with Mughal architecture of North Indian Islamic style. The three main domes of onion shape of this masjid is very usual in Mughal architecture & very unusual in Islamic architecture (Architect Najib). Finally, thanks to our Datuk Bandar Kuala Lumpur, as the host for this programme. Wallahualam. Similarly on the programme of Asean writers, our young generation now is working towards Asean Union. Sharing with my Singaporean friends Anuar Othman & Sarifah Yatiman & MTG Jamek Mosque - Sister Kamariah Sulaiman & Sister Nizar Khairunnisa.
